Denise Smith, Founder & CEO
Denise Smith is the Founder & CEO of Peace of Thread. She is a woman who loves the oppressed and brokenhearted with deep passion. She has traveled to more than 12 countries sharing with the poor. Her last adventure God took her and her husband to the Near East where they lived for almost 7 years. Her education and love for the nations started early in life where she left her small town in Ohio and traveled to Miami, Florida. There, she found her wonderful husband, Art, to whom she has been married for almost 48 years.
Denise has been mentoring young ladies for over 30 years and uses her education of psychology to aid her with her deep faith in Jesus. Her laughter is contagious as she enjoys her 7 beautiful grandchildren and 2 living children. They released their 16 year old son, Jesse, back to His Creator Jesus in 1997. He suffered from a rare childhood cancer. This sharpened and shaped Denise's heart for the oppressed suffering women & children in this world.
Denise lives every day in the light of her experiences where she uses her passion while giving a voice to women who would never have an opportunity to dream a little more with freedom from war and education for their children as well as themselves. Denise resides in Grayson, Georgia with her husband Art and her extended family in close view. Her travels now continue stateside to Clarkston, Georgia where new hope begins for refugee women through Peace of Thread.
